Inside the Factory — A Day on the Los Angeles Floor
What actually happens between 'click buy' and a cabinet arriving at your door? We walked the floor with our head of operations.

Our facility sits on 28,000 square feet in East LA — a single warehouse where every cabinet is cut, finished, assembled, and crated.
A cabinet order starts in the CAD queue. When you complete a configurator order, a production file auto-generates with every cut dimension, drill location, and hardware spec. No human transcribes the order. This is our single biggest defect-reduction intervention — a 70% drop in 'wrong cabinet built' mistakes over the decade.
The cut files go to our panel processing line. Plywood and MDF arrive by the pallet, and within 40 minutes a single sheet is ripped, dadoed, drilled, and edge-banded into a six-panel kit. The panels are numbered and scanned into a QR-tracked crate that follows the order through the rest of the factory.
The finish line is where most of the hand-work happens. Every cabinet is sanded by hand before stain or paint. The finisher who stains a panel is the same one who inspects it before it leaves the booth.
Assembly happens in one of our twelve bays. Each bay has a single assembler and a specified set of cabinets — nobody rushes between jobs. The per-bay cadence means a cabinet takes longer to assemble than it would on a conveyor, but the defect rate is a quarter of the industry average.
The final step is packaging. Every cabinet leaves in a reinforced crate specifically engineered for that cabinet's dimensions. There is no universal box. The crate has saved us more than it cost — our in-transit damage rate is under 1%, versus the industry's 6–8%.
