Every spring we look at what's moving. The 2026 data is in, and it's a surprising break from the trends of the past five years.

Rising fastest: Forest Green. A deep, slightly-muted green that reads as both natural and dressed-up. Forest Green is up 140% year-over-year in our order mix. The pattern is consistent across climate zones and kitchen sizes, which is a strong signal that this isn't a regional taste.

Rising second: Soft Cream. After a decade of 'agreeable gray' and 'warm white' dominating the painted category, homeowners are reaching for something with more yellow in it. Soft Cream reads as 'old paint in a New England farmhouse' — comfortingly aged without being actually aged.

Holding steady: Navy Blue. Navy has been our number-two finish for four straight years. It's not growing, but it's not shrinking either, which in a trend-driven category is remarkable.

Declining: Pure White. This one was coming. Pure White peaked in 2023 and has been declining 8–12% per year since. Homeowners are realizing that pure white reads as 'rental' more often than 'clean.'

Quiet surprise: Onyx Black. Black cabinets were a trade-designer obsession for years without mainstream uptake. In 2026 mainstream is picking it up, up 65% year-over-year in our residential orders.

The overall trend: saturation is up, whiteness is down, and homeowners are more willing to commit to color than they were five years ago. A good year to be a cabinet colorist.
