The Henderson Kitchen
A kitchen by Margaret & David Henderson
Margaret and David bought their 1924 craftsman in 2019 with a kitchen that had been last updated in 1983.
They wanted to preserve the feel of the original house — the dark-stained oak, the clinker brick, the original leaded windows — while introducing the storage and ergonomics of a modern kitchen.
We specified a full run of Shaker base cabinets in Natural Oak, matching the original door trim, topped with a Pearl White quartz counter. The uppers are in Soft Cream to match the original 1920s paint, now exposed on the adjacent dining room ceiling.
The island is a single custom-built run — the one bespoke element of the order — housing a double-drawer base, a trash pullout, and a sink base tilt-out under an eight-foot slab of honed marble.
